Nebbiolo season is upon us, and there could be no better way to welcome it than with a rare journey through the back vintages of Elio Sandri. Working from his family’s tiny Cascina Disa estate in Perno, Monforte d’Alba, Sandri is one of Barolo’s great traditionalists. His wines are made slowly and without compromise, capturing both the power of Monforte and Nebbiolo’s extraordinary perfume, complexity and capacity to evolve.

For this very special tasting, Crystal will explore six Barolos spanning 2010 to 2018, including the Perno Riserva and the exceptionally rare Perno Vigna Disa Riserva. 

From the classical depth of 2010 and the celebrated precision of 2016 to the distinctive personalities of 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018, this is a fascinating opportunity to experience one vineyard, one grape and one singular producer through time. We have never presented a tasting quite like this before, and with only 16 places available, it is not one to miss.

The evening will conclude with lasagne and a selection of cheeses.

Your ticket is your seat: no physical ticket will be sent, just bring your name and your order confirmation. Bottles from the tasting will be available to buy on the night. Tickets are non-refundable, but you are welcome to pass yours on to a friend — just let us know the name. If you can't make it and have no one to pass it to, tell us as soon as you can: we keep a waiting list, and if we manage to resell your place, we will refund you in full. We can't promise it, but we will certainly try. Please tell us in advance of any dietary requirements so the kitchen can look after you properly.
