Join us for the next Wine Salon with Crystal Whitcroft — this time celebrating a true Tuscan icon: Carpineta Fontalpino. Led by Crystal and presented in the warm, passionate setting of Passione Vino this intimate tasting will trace the estate’s organic roots, its respect for terroir, and the clear, elegant expression of Sangiovese that defines their best wines.

Why Carpineta Fontalpino is special
Carpineta Fontalpino is a family-run estate near Montaperti, where about 30 hectares of vineyards sit within a 90-hectare organic farm; the team works with respect for soil and tradition to produce wines that are both authentic and modern.
They farm organically and follow low-intervention cellar practices, letting indigenous yeasts and careful ageing reveal pure fruit, minerality and structure — a philosophy that gives their wines clarity, depth and longevity.

What we will taste

  • Fontalpino Vigna Dofana G. Selezione 2019 — their Gran Selezione from a single cru, rich and layered with savoury cherry, earth and fine tannin that reveals Tuscan character with finesse.

  • Fontalpino Chianti Classico 2022 (or 2023) — a classic, bright expression of Sangiovese from the estate’s heartland, showing fresh red fruit, herbs and vibrant acidity.

  • Fontalpino Boulè — a Metodo Classico 100% Chardonnay, silky and toasty, with delicate perlage and notes of baked bread, orchard fruit and butter.

  • Fontalpino Vigna Montaperto G. Selezione 2019 — another single-vineyard Gran Selezione, showcasing concentrated fruit, minerality and elegant ageing potential.

  • Do ut Des IGT Toscana — the estate’s Supertuscan expression, bold and generous, named for the Latin motto “I give so that you will give”.
