Conterno Fantino BASTIA Chardonnay Langhe DOC (2023) - Piemonte
THE GRAPE
100% Chardonnay from wind‑scrubbed slopes around Bricco Bastia in Monforte d’Alba, on silty soils flecked with sand at 300–540m, farmed organically.
THE WINE
Bright straw with green glints, like Langa sunrise in a Zalto. Nose is generous: green apple, pear, citrus, ripe yellow stone fruit, almond and a whisper of vanilla and butter from smart oak and full malo. On the palate it’s full‑bodied yet saline and vertical—fresh acidity, creamy texture, long finish of fruit, citrus peel and wet stone.
FOOD PAIRING
Tajarin al burro e salvia, roasted chicken with herbs, rich fish dishes, or truffled cheese omelette.
THE WINEMAKER
Same heroic Langa crew: Conterno Fantino’s “white side”, showing that their organic Barolo terroir can also speak fluent Chardonnay without losing its Piedmontese accent.
