A beautifully composed village Barbaresco: perfumed Nebbiolo with red cherry, rose, herbs and fine tannins—classic Barbaresco energy with an unusually generous, drinkable fruit core.

THE GRAPE
100% Nebbiolo from Ca’ Nova’s vineyards in the village of Barbaresco, where the family works across the historic Ovello, Montefico and Montestefano areas. The 2022 is their approachable village-level Barbaresco, made with traditional maceration and large oak, allowing the fruit and freshness of the vintage to lead.

THE WINE
Bright ruby with violet reflections. The nose opens with red cherry, raspberry, rose petals, wild herbs and a touch of balsamic lift. On the palate it is medium-bodied and energetic, with fine tannins, lively acidity and a savoury finish of liquorice, spice and mineral dust. This is Barbaresco that already speaks clearly: elegant, perfumed and very true to the appellation, but without the distance that sometimes keeps young Nebbiolo locked away.

FOOD PAIRING
Vitello tonnato, tajarin al ragù, roast chicken, porcini, braised veal or aged Piemonte cheese. A brilliant bottle for the middle of a meal rather than the end of it.

THE WINEMAKER
La Ca’ Nova is a family estate in Barbaresco, farming around fourteen hectares across the village’s most important Nebbiolo sites. The family produces Barbaresco from Montefico and Montestefano, alongside Barbera and Dolcetto, with a style built on respect for the vineyard, traditional maturation and wines that stay refreshingly alive
