Castello di Monsanto Sangioveto Rosato IGT (2021) – Toscana
THE GRAPES
100% Sangiovese from the estate's youngest vineyards in the heart of Chianti Classico, on classic galestro soils at 300-400m altitude.
THE WINE
Not a saignée byproduct but a deliberate rosato from ultra-short skin maceration. Vibrant onion-skin pink with luminous clarity. Aromas of wild strawberry, rosehip, white peach, and a mineral stony edge. Dry, sapid palate with crisp acidity, delicate red berry flavours, and refreshing Tuscan saline finish. Stainless steel fermentation preserves its pure, elegant fruit.
FOOD PAIRING
Versatile summer wine: antipasti, grilled fish, seafood risotto, prosciutto, or light pasta—perfect aperitivo.
THE WINEMAKER
Named for founder Fabrizio Bianchi, this rosato honours Monsanto's Chianti heritage. The estate—pioneers of single-vineyard Chianti Classico since 1969—crafts this rarity from their organic vineyards with minimal intervention, showcasing Sangiovese's lighter, brighter side from the same DNA that produces their legendary Il Poggio
