THE GRAPE
100% Nebbiolo from the hills of Serralunga d’Alba, with fruit drawn from the Bricco Voghera cru and the lower slopes of Cerrati. Limestone-rich soils, veins of sand and elevations between 250 and 400 metres give the wine both classic Barolo perfume and Serralunga’s unmistakable backbone.rosenthalwinemerchant.

THE WINE
A bright ruby-red Barolo with a gently orange rim. The nose opens with faded rose, red berries, liquorice, plum, woodland and spice. On the palate it is fresh, savoury and beautifully structured, with bright acidity and firm but balanced tannins. It has the serious architecture of Serralunga, but without ever becoming stern—more generous, more lifted, and very much ready to enjoy with a little air.rosenthalwinemerchant.

FOOD PAIRING
Tajarin with ragù, brasato al Barolo, roasted game, truffle dishes, porcini mushrooms and mature toma. This is a bottle for a proper Piedmontese lunch, preferably one that starts late and finishes later.

THE WINEMAKER
Tenuta Cucco is one of Serralunga’s historic estates, now guided by the Rossi Cairo family and winemaker Clara Milani. Since the estate’s renewal, the team has combined organic farming with traditional Barolo methods: hand-picking parcel by parcel, native fermentations and patient ageing in large casks.
