THE GRAPE

THE WINE
Pigato takes its name from the dramatic coastal storms (Mareggiata) that crash against Ligurian shores. Just like these waves, our wine is intense and expansive. Mareggio boasts a straw-yellow colour with subtle green or golden reflections. It offers an intense, fruity, and persistent aroma with hints of white flowers, peach, and honey on a mineral background.
On the palate, it’s dry yet soft, broad, and savoury, with a delightful bitter note characteristic of this wine. The winemaking process involves gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation, and ageing on the lees until the spring following the harvest.

THE FOOD PAIRING 
Our producer recommends pairing Mareggio with elegant and intense dishes, not only from the sea but also with white meats. Serve at a recommended temperature of 14°C.
