La Ca' Nova Barbaresco Box 2022 + The Dinner With Luca That Ends Dry January

Six bottles of Barbaresco 2022, and an evening that exists only because of them: Luca will set the table in our private room for the handful of people who take this box home, sharing the food and the wines he loves with the people who love them just as much.

La Ca' Nova is a small family estate in a nineteenth-century cascina in the heart of Barbaresco, its fourteen hectares include parcels in two of the village's great crus, south-facing Montestefano, which gives the deeper, more powerful wines, and south-east-facing Montefico, in the Bric Mentina vineyard, which gives the more elegant ones. The winemaking is strictly traditional: fermentation without temperature control, skins kept submerged for a further fifteen to twenty days after fermentation, and at least eighteen months in 3,000-litre casks. The 2022s have the bright fruit and fine, dry grip of a vintage that is easy to love now and rewarding to wait for, and this box holds two bottles each of the Barbaresco, Montefico and Montestefano, one year seen through three vineyards.

With the box comes a seat at our table on Friday 5 December, when Luca will open a few bottles he has been keeping back over dinner in our private room and spend the night talking wine with the people who bought it.
