THE GRAPES
Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera from old bush vines in Puglia’s Salento peninsula, rooted in limestone and red clay soils.

THE WINE
A powerful, age-worthy red showcasing Puglia’s sun-drenched intensity with refined elegance. Mocavero Puteus reveals deep aromas of black cherry, Mediterranean herbs, balsamic notes, and subtle tobacco from extended oak ageing. The full-bodied palate offers ripe dark fruit, firm yet noble tannins, vibrant acidity, and layers of spice, leather, and earthy minerality. Long, persistent finish with evolved complexity—ready to drink now or cellar further.

FOOD PAIRING
Ideal with braised beef, wild boar ragù, mature Pecorino cheeses, or grilled lamb—perfect for hearty Mediterranean feasts.

THE WINEMAKER
From the Mocavero family estate near Arnesano in Salento, led by brothers Francesco and Marco since the 1990s. Building on four generations of tradition since 1950, they craft authentic Puglia wines with passion and minimal intervention, honouring native grapes and their “warrior” heritage in every bottle.
