Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo).


THE WINE
"Sassella" is one of the five crus of the Valtellina appellation. At the tasting, you will find a Nebbiolo which expresses itself in a more Cistercian style than the "Inferno" cru on red and blackberries, spices, pepper, and peony. The palate is airy and racy with just the grain of tannin needed to give relief, verticality and length to the wine. Very nice mineral and spicy afterglow for this wine which stretches very long in the mouth. A masterpiece set to defy the decades! Congratulations Marco, you have found the Lombard equivalent of Chambolle-Musigny "Les Amoureuses" that you cherish so much!!!
