Cascina Delle Rose Barbaresco DOCG Marcorino (2021) Piemonte
THE GRAPES
100% Nebbiolo from the rare Marcorino cru in Neive (Barbaresco zone), a 0.5ha organic parcel the Barbareschi family first rented in 2018 and purchased in 2024. Clay-limestone marls with dense stratification.
THE WINE
Elegant, structured Barbaresco with finesse and energy. Bright garnet red with violet, rose, menthol, pine forest, raspberry, and star anise aromas. Juicy red cherry and mineral close on the linear palate, with firm, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. Aged 22-24 months in large Slavonian botti (1999-2017 casks). Long-lived yet approachable.
FOOD PAIRING
Game meats, roast white meats, braised dishes, steak, red sauce pasta, aged cheeses—flexes beautifully with food.
THE WINEMAKER
Cascina delle Rose crafts terroir-driven organic Barbaresco from prime Piedmont crus. Their Marcorino debut showcases delicate winemaking and Neive’s mineral complexity through minimal intervention and traditional large oak. FIVI member excellence
In 2018, Cascina Delle Rose seized the opportunity to include this exceptional cru in its production lineup. The small vineyard, planted in 1944, is meticulously tended with unwavering passion. Due to its extremely limited yield, it is offered first to longstanding clients, with the inaugural vintage available from 2024.
The site’s Tertiary marine-origin soils feature dense, varied layers of clay-limestone marls, abundant sandstone, clay, and silt.
Marcorino Barbaresco arises from a meticulous field selection of 100% Nebbiolo grapes, delivering remarkable complexity and depth alongside elegant finesse.
