THE WINE
Conterno-Fantino winery was born from a union between two historical families of the area who have now established themselves among the best Barolo producers. del Gris is the “princess” of Conterno Fantino. It’s feminine and delicate, and the most accessible of the range, thanks also to its unparalleled intrigue, finesse and elegance. Located just 320 meters (1,050 feet) above sea level in the Ginestra district, the vineyards are south- and southeast-facing with a lighter sandy soil. The wines are opulent and refined. The oldest vines in the vineyard were planted in 1978.

THE PAIRING 
fatty meats and rich sauces work well for a Barolo wine pairing. Veal is quite traditional in the Langhe, but rich meat like a duck is also brilliant.
