THE PAIRING

But for the curious …
The term "vite maritata" refers to an ancient agricultural technique that involves using living trees as supports for grapevines. The expression "vite maritata" thus indicates the bond between the vine's woody stem and the tree trunk to which the vine is tied. However, it's not a parasitic relationship; the vine does not interfere with the tree it clings to.This Etruscan cultivation method has been called "vite maritata" for centuries. The vine is metaphorically "married" to the tree it twines around.
