Skerk Glera 18/10 Metodo Ancestrale IGT (2016) – Friuli Venezia Giulia
THE GRAPE
Glera
THE WINE
This Glera is Skerk's new macerated sparkling wine. It is produced using the ancestral method and embraces a minimalist and organic approach. The vineyard, located near the village of Prosecco, lies on terraces with dry stone walls known as "pastini," perched above the Miramar castle and overlooking the Bay of Trieste.
The wine undergoes two weeks of maceration on skins and is aged on noble lees for 12 months. The ancestral method sparkling process takes 36 months on lees, with no liqueur expedition added.
The golden bubbles sparkle, revealing intense and evolved aromas. Candied citrus, orange blossoms, acacia honey, raisins, and hints of green tea leaves dance on the nose. On the palate, the creamy bubbles offer a savoury, almost salty rigour balanced by a fresh finish.
THE FOOD PAIRING
SKerk Glera’s balanced freshness and structured notes make it an excellent companion for various dishes, from appetisers to main courses that require a sparkling touch.
