Terre Nobili CARIGLIO IGP (2024) – Calabria
THE GRAPE
50% Magliocco Dolce + 50% Magliocco Canino (aka Guarnaccia Nera/Ovale) from 36ha of carefully selected slopes in Montalto Uffugo—ancient Calabrian biotypes thriving on fertile, well-exposed clay-limestone at optimal altitude.
THE WINE
Deep ruby-porpora with violet-cherry flashes. Nose hits hard: ripe blackberry, mulberry, mature cherries, juniper berries, then unfolds spicy, balsamic warmth and forest underbrush. Full, savory palate wraps around balanced tannins, pleasant astringency and 14.5% glow—warm, persistent, structured for roast game or rare beef, ages gracefully through 2030.
FOOD PAIRING
Carni rosse alla brace, cinghiale stew, wild boar salumi, aged pecorino, polenta con funghi—Calabria's hearty mountain table.
THE WINEMAKER
Tenuta Terre Nobili meticulously farms their Montalto Uffugo estate with sustainable practices, hand-selecting grapes for Cariglio's 21-day skin contact and stainless steel finesse—pure Calabrian revival bottled with fierce territorial pride.
