Focus of The Month: Piedmont
In what could only be described as a dream, this month the focus is Piedmont. A region that is a haven to some of Italy’s finest wines. We need only mention Barolo and Barbaresco to bring you to attention. Yet beyond these two powerhouses there is a wider vheritage that defines Piedmont. Nebbiolo, for instance, may be primarily planted around Alba, but other vines planted in this area include Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis, all of which are indigenous to Piedmont.
Collectively, these wines and the producers that we work with are a strong case in point as to why Piedmont’s viticulture is so revered, especially when paired with some of the dishes typical to the region. Vitello tonnato or Tajarin anyone?
Yes, this month’s focus is one that we are equally happy about.
