Carussin family embraced a project that aims to create the purest expression of Nebbiolo grape variety, with no compromises.
They specialise in Barberas from Monferrato, but they buy organically grown Nebbiolo grape from Piedmont's three most famous areas with this project. Barolo, Barbaresco and Sesia River.

THE WINE
Sisto di Carussin is made of Nebbiolo grape from 50 years old vines, from Barolo, La Morra. Spontaneous fermentation with long macerations on the skins. Aged in fibreglass tanks, no temperature control and bottled with a crown cap, without filtration. Ruby red colour. Discrete notes with pleasant hints of juicy red fruits followed by earthy and balsamic notes. It is pure-bodied, very dry yet pulpy and enjoyable to drink on the palate. Sisto is the purest expression of Nebbiolo/Barolo you can get.

FOOD PAIRING
Risotto with porcini mushrooms, braised beef in Barolo, carne cruda - raw beef or veal prepared the Piedmontese way - or steak tartare.
