Memories of Milano
Milan, a metropolis in Italy's northern Lombardy region and Italy's fashion capital and arguably its most dynamic city, Milan has plenty of appeal for food and wine lovers, thanks to its wealth of tasty local dishes and a burgeoning wine scene.
Our selection is of 2 wines from the same winery : Castello di Cigognola. A 12th Century castle, with 33 hectares of vines on steep slopes. They have some excellent terroir and perfect micro-climate for Barbera, which is their primary grape. They aim to produce high quality, authentic wines that represent the best of the region. Surprisingly in this DUO, White & Red, both wines are made of the same grape: Barbera! if you're asking yourself: "isn't Barbera a red variety?" the answer is... of course it is!
The producers are into Barbera in a big way and wanted to make a white wine so they gently pressed the red grapes and then immediately remove the skin so there is no contact with the freshly pressed clear juice. Unique white wine from red grapes!Bianca 2019
